For the past 11 years, Anna has explored portraiture through painting, mixed media and photography. She received her B.F.A. in painting from the Savannah College of Art and Design. Her paintings are part of numerous collections throughout the U.S. Anna paints using acrylics, oils, watercolors, fabrics, paper, wood, canvas and anything else that seems to inspire her at the moment she decides to create. Her paintings are in a constant state of fluxion. She applies layers and scrapes away until she feels the piece reaches maturity. The colors are super saturated and layered with depth and emotion. While enjoying pushing the paint to its limits, she finds a deep familiarity with her subjects. Anna enjoys photographing her subjects in an original manner with her own props and clothing that fit her contemporary expressionistic style of work. She uses her own photo subjects as muses for her paintings. Anna resides in her hometown of Apalachicola and is inspired everyday by the beauty and personalities that surround her.
